Carmine Stumpo, the president, and CEO of OSMH, was all smiles at a recent funding announcement. He is among the highest paid public sector employees, locally. According to the Sunshine List, he earned $364,308.11 in 2023.

The following letter from former NDP candidate Myrna Clark is in response to 'Hundreds of local public-sector employees on 2023 Sunshine List,' published April 1.

These opulent salaries of hospital CEOs are obscene.

It is insulting to all staff of hospitals and all workers in the health-care field.

Further, it hurts patients who cannot get care due to cutbacks.

Do people who elect governments not understand that the current provincial government with five MPPs here in Simcoe County not get it?

We have failed with intelligent public education about just what a caring society with responsible leadership really means. News media is generally one of the main information sources, so please have an opinion and share it with the population.
