Details are scant but the Orillia OPP say a boat fire has shut down The Narrows - a popular fishing and boating area between lakes Couchiching and Simcoe.
Ramara Fire and Rescue used their water boat to try to extinguish the late-afternoon boat blaze. The Orillia Fire Department also assisted the effort.

It's not sure at this point what caused the fire, which started at about 5 p.m. near Crate's Marina. It's also unclear if there were any injuries.
Emergency crews remain on the scene. A reopening time is not yet known.
