Police investigate the scene where a body was discovered on Monday morning, April 29, behind a plaza at King and Mill Streets in Angus.

Provincial police continue to be tight-lipped about the circumstances and the cause of death after a Schomberg man's body was discovered behind a plaza in Angus earlier this week.

“All I can say at this time is that foul play is not suspected,” OPP Const. Jacquelyn Beaulieu said this morning.

Nottawasaga OPP investigated what has been termed a “sudden death” in Essa Township, located about 20 minutes west of Barrie, on April 29.

At approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, police responded to a call for an unresponsive person behind a business in the area of King and Mill streets in Angus.

Police said the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

The deceased has been identified as a 31-year-old man from Schomberg, which is located about 40 minutes south of Angus.

At the time, police said the death is not being considered suspicious and there was no threat to public safety.

The OPP Crime Unit conducted the investigation with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
