OrilliaMatters, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Leila is a loyal kitty who came from a loving home.
She lived happily with her owner since she was a kitten. Unfortunately, due to a sad set of circumstances, Leila’s owner was no longer able to care for her, so now Leila is at the Orillia Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Animal Centre with new people who she doesn’t know, and she’s not really a ‘people person.’
Leila would like an adult-only quiet home with no other animals. She would do best with experienced cat people. She loves to lie on the couch and relax. When living with her mom, she enjoyed pets and rubs around her face and neck. She allowed her mom to pick her up and brush her. She will come to you but does not want attention when she’s not in the mood. We all know someone like this, right?
At nine years young, Leila has lots of life and energy and really likes playing with toys. She will warm up to someone new given the time.
She is not enjoying being here at the shelter. She needs to go home. Since arriving at the shelter, she is coming around to the staff and being more patient with us and she is letting us give her little pets on her head. She really likes treats and can be bribed to like you using Temptations.
Leila will let you know when she’s not happy; she gives you plenty of warning. She’s good at communicating her feelings.
Adopting a cat like Leila can bring excitement, and a rewarding feeling of love when she feels comfortable with you and allows you to get close and pet her.
If you have some patience and want to adopt a special girl that needs a forever family, please take a chance on Leila.
