Meet Riva. This beautiful black-and-white spayed tuxedo girl has been waiting for her forever home since 2014 — yes, you read that right. She’s been with us for more than a decade, patiently biding her time.
Born in September 2013, Riva came to us as a shy kitten, raised by a feral mom. While she’s made tremendous progress, she’s still learning to fully warm up to people, and she’s looking for an adopter who can help her continue to grow and trust.
Riva is a bit of an underdog in our shelter family — shy and timid, she doesn’t seek attention the way some other cats do. But don’t let her reserved nature fool you. She’s curious and loves to stay in the loop about what’s happening around her. Whether it’s watching volunteers go about their day or observing from her favourite spot, Riva is always tuned in to her surroundings.
Because she’s been with us for so long and is still working on building confidence, her adoption fee is reduced to $75 to encourage a loving, patient adopter to give her the home she truly deserves. However, if you are a senior and looking to adopt, we will waive Riva’s adoption fee. Riva is good with other cats (though she prefers calm companions — no rambunctious kittens for her), and she’s looking for a quiet, adult-only home where she can continue her journey at her own pace.
Riva is worth the wait, and with the right person, we know she’ll thrive.
