Meet Duke, a seven-month-old mastiff mix with a giant heart.
His gentle nature and cuddly demeanour make him a great companion and a joy to be around. He does take some time to warm up to visitors as he is very loyal to his people, but once he learns they are friends, he is happy to greet them.
His foster parents have described him as a giant lap dog. He just loves love. He has several naps during the day and his favourite spot at his foster home is in front of the window, watching the birds and basking in the sun.
Duke has a keen love for treats, which makes training him an absolute joy. He knows many commands, including “sit,” “shake a paw,” “come outside,” “where are your toys” and “down.” He is good on a leash and does not pull. He does get the zoomies from time to time, so he would benefit from a fenced-in backyard. He is doing well with his potty training, too — 95 per cent trained. He is great at communicating when he has to go.
He would do best in a home with mature children as he is unaware of his size and still has playful puppy energy. A home with few stairs would be best as he is still learning how to go up and down them.
