Peter Street Fine Arts is part of the Peter Street Art Hop happening this coming Saturday afternoon.

Don’t miss the Peter Street Art Hop this Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. Looks like the weather will cooperate for it, so take this opportunity to come down to Peter Street South between Mississaga and Colborne streets, and browse all the wonderful studios and businesses there: Three Crows Speak, Blossom, the Shadow Box, Hibernation Arts, Peter Street Fine Arts, the Orillia Museum of Art and History, and Tiffin’s Creative.

You will find unique art, one-of-a-kind gift ideas, wood-turned items, handmade soaps, and so much more. Come check it all out this Saturday afternoon.

I hope everyone had the chance to check out the Sunshine Festival at the Port of Orillia, and the pop-up market at Leacock Museum last weekend. Unfortunately, the weather did NOT cooperate on the Sunday, but I hope everything was successful despite that hiccup. Next event at the Port? Christmas in June, happening on June 22 ... look out for Santa in a bathing suit!

June has lots of great Pride events and activities, thanks to Lake Country Pride, Mariposa Arts Theatre, and their partners. Monday, June 17 at 11 a.m. come out to City Hall for the Pride flag raising ceremony. Also that day, register for Pride Jeopardy at the Orillia Public Library. Here's a few more events:

June 18, Heartworks Children’s studio is hosting a Pride Craft night for the whole family.

June 21 and 22, Mariposa Arts Theatre presents Queer Cabaret at the MAT Warehouse. There are limited tickets available for the late show on June 22, www.mariposaartstheatre.com/tickets.

June 22, Pride yoga at The Holding Space at 9:30 a.m. Then make your way to the Orillia Public library to make a sign for the Pride March, which gets underway at 1 p.m. from the library. At 2 p.m. join everyone at the pavilion in the park for the Pride BBQ and get together.

That night, join in the Pride Karaoke night at Cards and Coasters, and June 23, Couchiching Craft Brewery presents Drag Brunch from noon to 2 p.m.

Lots going on next weekend for Pride, so get your Pride on and come on out!

Next Sunday, June 23, don’t miss the kick-off concert for the Sunday Evening band concerts ... starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Rotary Aqua Theatre at Couchiching Beach Park. Admission is free and the band is the Orillia Concert Band. It will be a wonderful return to these special shows.

On Wednesday, June 19, Couchiching Craft Brewery has a Mamma Mia singalong, courtesy of Choir Revolution. The fun starts at 6 p.m.

Lots of live music virtually everywhere this weekend, including Quayle’s Brewery, Couchiching Craft Brewery, Boston Pizza, and more. Enjoy!

If you have arts news, send it to [email protected] by Tuesday at noon to be included.
