NEWS RELEASE
ORILLIA CONCERT ASSOCIATION
*************************
The Orillia Concert Association welcomes you to our first concert of the 2024-2025 season.

One of the most beloved ensembles, the Stratton Soloists, will lead off our new season on Sunday, Oct. 27, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. This group is a dynamic and intimate ensemble of the Toronto Concert Orchestra’s principal players.

Named in memory of Kerry Stratton’s musical legacy, the Stratton Soloists have endeared themselves to Orillia audiences with their virtuosity and panache. Whether it’s Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, The Beatles or Elton John, relax and enjoy the performances by this talented powerhouse of musicians.

The price for our subscription series of four concerts is $90 for adults and $30 for youth and students (high school, university and college). Payment by cheque or cash is preferred.

For those patrons wishing to pay for their ticket by debit or credit, this option is available through the box office at the Orillia Opera House (hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays only).

Tickets to our individual concerts, including this concert with the Stratton Soloists, will be available at a price of $40 for adults and $20 for youth and students either in advance or at the door prior to the concert.

Yet to come in 2025:

  • The Elmer Iseler Singers start off the new year with a concert on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Opera House at 2:30 p.m. (note: this will be our only Saturday performance this year). Created and established by the great Canadian choral master Elmer Iseler in 1979, this chamber choir is inspirational, innovative and passionate.
  • Bridge and Wolak will bring their special sounds to Orillia on Sunday, March 23, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church at 2:30 p.m. For over ten years, Michael Bridge on accordion and Kornel Wolak on clarinet have been mixing classical music with improv comedy.  Entertaining, inspiring and just plain delightful, this incredible duo will send you home with a smile.
  • Our final concert of the year, on Sunday May 4, at 2:30 p.m., at the Orillia Opera House, features Orillia’s very own Lance Anderson. Lance has graced concert halls around the world; on May 4 he takes off his hat to the unforgettable sounds of Duke Ellington and Count Basie – jazz royalty with Lance Anderson on piano, John Johnson on saxophone and Russ Boswell on Bass.

We hope you will be able to join us for one or all of these four wonderful concerts.
