Carole Boshier founded and led Bright Horizons, a Montessori school, for 30 years, where she was a passionate educator and strong advocate for providing a safe, respectful learning environment for children.
Under her leadership, Bright Horizons provided a peaceful environment where education flourished and the joy of learning was nurtured within the students. Through her lessons, students were encouraged to be themselves, ask questions and think critically about their surroundings.
Dedicated to helping students develop and learn at their own pace and providing opportunity for personal growth, Carole spent years adapting her approach and updating her skills so that she would be able to meet the needs of all of her students.
Retired now, she serves as a mentor to teachers who are solving their own challenges. She has also inspired many teachers to take their Montessori certification, building their confidence and teaching skills as they help mould the minds of the next generation.
Carole’s commitment to teaching has made an impact on the lives of countless students.
This award goes to a student, teacher, administrator, or education advocate who has made a difference in the Orillia & Lake Country area. It could be an extraordinary teacher who has changed the direction of students’ lives, an administrator who established a specialized program, or an advocate who saved a school from closing.
