Losing a child is a devastating ordeal that no parent should endure, yet tragically, many find themselves in this heart-wrenching situation. Frequently, they navigate this difficult path in solitude, feeling disconnected from their closest family and friends. The unique depth of a parent’s sorrow can best be comprehended by another parent who has also faced the loss of a child.
The North Simcoe Muskoka Hospice Palliative Care Network (NSMHPCN) is now offering an eight-week support group for those who have experienced the loss of a child. These weekly group meetings will cover various topics, including self-care and boundaries, Grief through Anniversaries and Milestones, and Managing Guilt. Sessions will run on Thursday evenings beginning on September 26th, 2024 in Bracebridge.
