A positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Bradford District High School (BDHS).
A letter from BDHS Principal Peter Stone was sent to students, staff and visitors of the school letting them know of the case.
The school is working with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and the Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) to take the necessary steps to prevent further spread in the school and community.
Due to privacy reasons, the letter did not confirm if the individual was a student or staff member. The school remains open.
To date there have been seven cases of COVID-19 confirmed at Simcoe County District School Board schools, including Worsley Elementary, Admiral Collingwood Elementary, Bear Creek Secondary, Twin Lakes Secondary School, Goodfellow Public School and Bradford District High School.
Classrooms have been closed at Worsley, Admiral Collingwood, Goodfellow, and Bear Creek.
There are five confirmed school-related cases within Simcoe Muskoka District Catholic School Board facilities, and there are six classrooms closed. The schools include St. Paul's Catholic School (Alliston), St. John Vianney Catholic School (Barrie), St. Angela Merici Catholic School (Bradford), Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School (Barrie), and Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School (Tottenham).
