The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 38 new cases of COVID-19 across the region today, including four in Orillia.
The Orillia cases include an 18-34-year-old woman, with the source listed as a congregate setting outbreak. There are two 18-34-year-old men and a 35-44-year-old man all listed with sources under investigation.
In Oro-Medonte, there is one new case today: a 35-44-year-old woman with the source listed as under investigation.
There is one case in Ramara Township, of a 35-44-year-old woman with the source listed as an out-of-jurisdiction institutional outbreak. There is one case in Severn Township of an 18-34-year-old man with the source listed as under investigation.
There is one new case today in Wasaga Beach, of a woman between 45 and 64 years old, with the source of infection listed as community acquired.
Eight new cases are being reported in Barrie today. One youth is listed with the source under investigation, a female between 18 and 24 is listed as close contact, an 18-34-year-old male is listed as under investigation and a 35-44-year-old female is listed as a close contact. A male between 45 and 64 is also listed as close contact. Two 65-79-year-old women are listed with sources under investigation and a 65-79-year-old male is listed as a close contact.
There are eight new cases in Bradford West Gwillimbury. Seven of them have their sources of infection listed as under investigation: a male youth, an 18-34-year-old female, a 35-44-year-old woman, two 35-44 year-old men and three 45-64-year-old men.
There are three new Essa cases today: two 18-34-year-old women with transmission sources listed as under investigation, and one 45-64-year-old man with the source listed as close contact.
There is one case in Gravenhurst, an 18-34-year-old man with the source listed as close contact.
Two new Innisfil cases are on the list today: a male youth between 0 and 17 and a 45-64-year-old female. Both cases are listed as under investigation.
Six new cases are listed from New Tecumseth today: an 18-34-year-old man with the source listed as close contact. There are three 35-44-year-old women listed with sources under investigation. A 35-44-year-old man and a 65-79-year-old woman are also listed with the sources under investigation.
There are two cases listed on today's report with the municipality listed as pending: an 18-34-year-old man and a 45-64-year-old man. Both cases are listed with a transmission source as under investigation.
Two cases previously assigned to Barrie and one case previously assigned to New Tecumseth were removed as they were reassigned to different public health units.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 2,150 COVID cases, with 2,052 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,819 cases listed as recovered in the region. Thirteen people are currently hospitalized, all are Simcoe County residents. The health unit has confirmed 52 deaths since March.
The incidence rate for Simcoe County is 388 cases per 100,000 people.
