The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported 46 new cases in the region, including one new case in Orillia.
The Orillia case is a woman between 45 and 64 years old (under investigation).
There is one new case in Severn and Tiny Township today as well. The Severn case is a woman between 35 and 44 years old (under investigation). The Tiny Township case is a man between 65 and 79 years old whose case is linked to close contact.
The health unit reported three new cases in Barrie today including one man between 35 and 44 years old whose case is linked to a workplace outbreak that is outside of the Simcoe-Muskoka region. The other two Barrie cases are both women, one is between 18 and 34 years old and one is between 35 and 44 years old. Both cases are linked to close contact.
There are 15 new cases reported in Bradford West-Gwillimbury today, including one girl under 18 whose case is linked to close contact. There are three women and four men between 18 and 34 years old included among the Bradford cases, as well as one woman and one man between 35 and 44 years old, and two women and three men between 45 and 64 tears old. The transmission sources listed for the Bradford cases state six are linked to close contact, six are still under investigation, and two were community-acquired.
There are 11 new cases reported in Essa since the health unit last updated the list on Tuesday. Among the Essa residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 are two girls and a boy under 18, two women and a man between 35 and 44 years old, two women and a man between 45 and 64 years old, and a man and a woman between 65 and 79 years old. The transmission sources for the Essa cases include five close contact cases, one community-acquired case, and five cases still under investigation.
In Innisfil today there are five new cases including a woman between 18 and 34 years old, a woman between 35 and 44 years old, two men between 45 and 64 years old and a woman over the age of 80. All but the last case are still under investigation. The case involving the woman over 80 years old is linked to close contact transmission.
In Collingwood there is one new case, a resident at Simcoe Manor long-term care home. The woman is over 80 years old, and is the first and only resident case reported so far in the COVID-19 outbreak at Sunset Manor, which is operated by the County of Simcoe.
There are five new cases in New Tecumseth today, including two women between 18 and 34 years old, and a woman and two men between 35 and 44 years old. One case is linked to close contact, one is community-acquired, and the remaining three are under investigation.
The remaining three cases reported by the health unit today include a Hunstville woman over the age of 80 and a man and a woman between 35 and 44 years old whose location information is still pending. All three cases are still under investigation.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 1,604 cases of COVID-19, with 1,519 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,378 cases listed as recovered in the region. Eight people are currently hospitalized, and of those seven are Simcoe County residents. The health unit has recorded 50 deaths.
The incidence rate for Simcoe County is 288 cases per 100,000 people.
