This morning while out walking I watched a man bury his dog's poop in the sand at Couchiching Beach.

And not the beach over by the old fisheries pier. On the beach where people sit, play, build sand castles, and swim. Within 20 feet of the "No Dogs On Beach" sign.

I know it's hard to enforce, but I am getting sick and tired of the way this town is being inundated with dog poop. It's EVERYWHERE! On the street, on the trails, all over the parks, on the downtown sidewalks, on my lawn. Some of it is bagged, some of it is left "au naturel".

It's all disgusting. And it's all caused by irresponsible dog owners who have a complete lack of respect for their fellow citizens and show contempt for the laws that are supposed to keep public property safe and clean for everyone to use.

When will dog owners clean up their acts? There is no reason our public spaces need to be used as a giant doggie bathroom.

Dogs can poop at home before they go for a walk. Or they can go to taxpayer-funded dog parks.

Stop the shitting on the beach!
