LETTER: Hiking cost of Ontario electricity sold to U.S. 'misguided'

The following letter is in response to an article about Ontario increasing the cost of the electricity it sells to the United States, published March 7.

I do not agree with this retaliation at all. The Ontario government is only going to be hurting innocent people in the U.S. who have no control over what their U.S. president is doing.

This, I believe, is a misguided move by the Ontario government and it most certainly is worse than any tariff imposed by the U.S. government, and it most certainly is a disproportionate response by the Ontario government.

I am a Canadian citizen residing in Ontario, and I have absolutely no say or control over what the premier of Ontario did in the past years or what he does or will do in the future.

Elected politicians do not listen to their constituents.
