The following letter is in response to an article about Mayor Don McIsaac donating his salary to charity, published Dec. 30.
I well remember a few years ago when I placed on Facebook a fundraising event we were holding for a family in great need.
I received a note from Don McIsaac indicating that he would like to make a donation to this family. Soon after, a very generous cheque came in the mail.
It needs to be mentioned that Don did not know this family, and that it happened long before he had moved back to Orillia.
You’re a good man, Don, and I am proud that you are our mayor.
