David Hawke, thank you for making me laugh out loud with your columns, ‘Let’s talk turkey. These birds are wild and kind of dumb’ and ‘Imagine if the Olympics were held in our local forests.’

I always enjoy reading your take on nature and always learn a thing or two along with having a chuckle. I still remember the column you wrote a while back about that blue heron that didn’t fly south one winter. I think I cried reading that one.

Please keep on writing about all things nature — we are all a bit more enlightened and informed because of your columns. Thank you.
