The following letter is from the Ontario Liberal Party candidate for Simcoe North, Walter Alvarez-Bardales.
Dear people of Simcoe North,
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation for the overwhelming support and encouragement I received during my recent campaign for the Provincial Parliament.
Coming in second place was a humbling experience, especially given the many voices that doubted an immigrant could garner such significant support in the riding. Your votes and the numerous emails of encouragement have truly touched my heart.
I am incredibly impressed by the open-mindedness, kindness, and community spirit that define the people of Simcoe North. Your willingness to embrace diversity and support a candidate based on shared values and vision speaks volumes about the strength and character of this community.
At this moment, my priority is to complete my PhD, a journey that I believe will further equip me with the knowledge and skills to serve you better in the future.
However, my commitment to Simcoe North remains unwavering. I am hopeful that, in the future, I can contribute to this wonderful community in some capacity, continuing to work towards the betterment of the district, which I have come to appreciate as my own.
Thank you once again for your trust, support, love, and belief in me. I am proud to be associated with such an incredible community, and I look forward to the day when I can give back to Simcoe North in some capacity.
With heartfelt gratitude and love,
Walter Alvarez-Bardales
