Connexus Church Orillia officially opened its doors Sunday with a grand-opening event that saw hundreds of attendees come together to celebrate the launch.

The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with special guests, including Orillia Mayor Don McIsaac, member of Parliament Adam Chambers, and several individuals involved in the design and construction process. A special congratulatory scroll was presented in the absence of MPP Jill Dunlop, who extended her well wishes for the success of Connexus Orillia.

After 17 years of meeting in a rented portable facility, Connexus is excited to welcome the Orillia community into this permanent space designed to inspire connection, growth, and faith. Guests were treated to cupcakes, a facility tour, and an introduction to the services Connexus Orillia offers.

“We are thrilled to officially open our doors to the Orillia community and share this space with them,” says lead pastor Jeff Brodie. “Today is not just about celebrating a new space; it’s a hub where people from all walks of life can find a place to belong. We’ve always said that God is for you, and your church should be, too, and this new facility helps us live that out in an even bigger way. We can’t wait to welcome everyone and show them what we’re all about.”

Throughout the morning, hundreds of people from the Orillia area gathered to take part in the festivities, marking a successful and vibrant start for Connexus Orillia’s commitment to being a church where you can belong even if you aren’t sure you believe yet.
