Alberta clipper expected to impact Friday afternoon commute

More winter weather is on the way.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for our area.

It says an Alberta clipper is expected to dump 15 cm.

“The heaviest snowfall is expected Friday afternoon and evening, thus likely impacting the afternoon commute,” the warning said.

Peak snowfall rates could reach 2 to 4 cm an hour.

That’s expected to reduce visibility for drivers.

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," Environment Canada said. "If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”

   Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago, Ont. (044120)
   Bracebridge - Gravenhurst, Ont. (044440)

Significant snowfall expected Friday.

Total snowfall accumulations near 15 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow.

Friday afternoon into early Saturday morning.
