ORILLIA CONCERT BAND

On March 4 the Orillia Concert Band (OCB) is pleased to present Broadway on Peter Street with guest singer Christina Bosco.
Broadway music is part of our culture. It evokes emotions and memories. It allows us to escape and remember. Come and experience the music as we take you back to the beginnings of Broadway and bring you through history to the present.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 and is presented at St. Paul’s Centre, 62 Peter St. N.
Couchiching Craft Brewing Co. will be running a bar in the lobby, pre-show and at intermission. Beer, cider, wine and light snacks will be available for purchase. There is also a new water bottle filling station in the lobby as well, so bring your favourite water bottle.
Ticket prices are:
Adult — $15
Senior (60-plus) — $13
Student (12 to 18 or adult with a student card) — $10
Youth (five to 11) — $5
Children under five – free
Advance tickets can be purchased at our new ticket site or tickets may be purchased by cash only at the door. The link to the new ticket site is also on the band’s website.

While not mandatory, the use of masks is strongly encouraged in the hall to help protect those at higher risk that may be attending the concert. Thank you for your consideration.

Information on the performers
The Orillia Concert Band is a 45-member recreational band based in the Orillia area, featuring wind, brass, and percussion instruments. Members range in age between 18 years and 81 years. The OCB presents a three-concert series each year, plus charitable fundraisers and concerts for special events. Christina Bosco is a well-known classical and contemporary vocal soloist. Christina has been the music director at Twin Lakes Secondary School in Orillia since 2003, and was the music director for the Mariposa Arts Theatre’s sold-out production of the musical Chicago in 2017. Graduating with honours from the highly acclaimed voice program at the University of Western Ontario, Christina actively involves herself with the performing arts. From being the president of the award-winning choir Les Choristes, to studying horn with world-renowned Eric Shultz, she challenges her students every day to live by her same ideals.
Randy Hoover has been a contributor to the Orillia music community for many years. He has a bachelor of music and a bachelor of education from the University of Western Ontario as well as a master’s of education degree from St. Mary’s University. He holds an associate diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in trumpet performance. He has taught secondary school music in Nova Scotia, Shelburne and Orangeville. For the past seven years Randy has taught at Lakehead in the education program. Locally, Randy has played in the Orillia Concert Band, the Orillia Silver Band, the Sensations Rhythm and Blues Band and with the Mariposa Arts Theatre. He is founder of the Leacock Brass Quintet and has been conductor of the Orillia Silver Junior Band. He is the founder of the Jazz Standards Trio and is currently the music director of the Orillia Concert Band and the Orillia Big Band.
