Barrie Police are investigating after a 15-year-old male from Barrie was arrested in connection to a pair of alleged sexual assaults at a Bayfield Street mall Monday night.

Police responded to the call at Georgian Mall around 9:25 p.m. on Dec. 9.

Based on the information provided by the female victims, who police say are in their early 20s, officers were able to identify and apprehend the suspect a short distance away.

Police said the victims did not sustain any injuries which required hospitalization.

The teen was arrested and charged with wearing a disguise and two counts of sexual assault.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.

Police said the accused was released from custody and has a court date in Barrie next month.

“We credit the victims with being able to provide us with the details that they did, which allowed for our officers to locate the individual,” police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told Village Media.
