Skiers and riders in Ontario are invited to Take Back Winter this season at Blue Mountain Resort starting with opening day this Friday, Dec. 10. After provincial shutdowns last season and variable winter weather over the past few weeks, the team at Blue is excited to kick-off a return to the slopes that snow-lovers have been waiting for.

The Silver Bullet high-speed six-person chairlift will be operating, giving access to Tranquility, Smart Alec, Memory Lane and Yahoo ski runs. The Easy Rider magic carpet and Graduate lift will also be operating. A terrain park will be available for guests on the Yahoo trail.

The slopes will officially open at 9 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. Blue Mountain will be open daily, weather and conditions permitting. Night skiing is scheduled to open Thursday, Dec. 16 as long as conditions allow. 21/22 Ikon and 5x7® Passholders can access the slopes according to their season pass terms and day guests can purchase lift tickets online at BlueMountain.ca

Newbie beginner ski and snowboard programs and private lessons will be available and Grand Central Lodge will be open as a hillside food and beverage option for guests.

“Our guests and our team deserve an amazing season,” says Dan Skelton, President & COO, Blue Mountain Resort. “Despite unprecedented challenges last year, the team worked incredibly hard to reimagine the Blue Mountain experience and our guests truly showed us how much they love winter sport. We continue to adapt our health and safety measures but with everyone’s support and Mother Nature’s cooperation, and I’m excited for a fantastic return to the slopes.”

Guests are not required to show proof of vaccination to ski or ride but mask-use is always recommended and physical distancing is required in lift lines. Masks are required to ride the chairlifts this season. In accordance with current Ontario Regulations, proof of vaccination is required to dine indoors along with mask-wearing. Guests are encouraged to visit www.bluemountain.ca/winter prior to their ski day.

Opening day will be celebrated with remarks from President & COO, Dan Skelton and music provided by Red Bull at the base of the Silver Bullet starting at 8:30 a.m.
