With winter weather conditions leading many to cancel their blood donation appointments, Canadian Blood Services is issuing an urgent appeal.
“February has been a month filled with heavy snowfall and extreme cold. This severe winter weather has resulted in hundreds of cancelled blood and plasma donation appointments,” the organization said in an email. “Last-minute cancellations and missed appointments make it challenging to keep inventory of blood products at optimal levels.”
People will have an opportunity to donate at upcoming clinics in Orillia. They will be held March 10 from 2 to 7 p.m. and March 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn and Conference Centre at 400 Memorial Ave.
