This June, plan to dine out at one of our participating restaurants and help us grow our support of young women pursuing post-secondary education.
The Homes for Scholarships Tour, held June 2, 2024, raises money for the CFUW Orillia Education Foundation’s annual scholarship program. This year, the event celebrated 50 years since its first tour with five stunning homes and a bonus property filled with ’50s, ’60s and ’70s memorabilia. Thanks to the generous support of our local community, the fundraiser raised enough funds to award $38,000 to 27 young women from the Orillia area pursuing post-secondary education.
In our 50th year, our 2024 fundraising goal is to reach $50,000. Fundraising efforts continue throughout the month of June with our Feed the Mind initiative, where local restaurants donate a portion of the proceeds from a select menu item to CFUW Orillia’s Scholarship Fund.
Restaurants include 125 Breakfast Club, Blue Moon Junction, FARE, Front St. BBQ, Kenzington Burger Bar, Lake Country Grill, Lot 88, PICNIC, Rustica Pizza Vino, Sidelines Sports Bar, Studabakers, Thai Plate, The Common Stove, The Hog & Penny, The Pantry Market Cafe, The Sunken Ship, and Tops in Pizza. Since 1974, CFUW Orillia has awarded $441,975 in scholarships to 776 young women from the local area pursuing post-secondary education.
