The Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club's Christmas Tree Sale has been so well supported by the public, it has already shattered its fundraising goal and has raised $2,000 for charity - so far.
As a result, the club has decided it will contribute $5 per tree sold until the end of the sale. Originally, the club was going to donate $5 for just the first 200 trees sold.
There are still two weekends available to find your perfect Christmas tree at the club's property on 510 Bass Lake Sideroad E., close to the 9th Line: Dec. 11-12 and Dec. 18-19. You can cut your own tree those days between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The cost of a tree, regardless of size, is $65.
The money raised through this Christmas tree sale will be divided between three local charities:
- The Sharing Place Food Centre
- Salvation Army
- The Orillia Lighthouse Christian Ministry
The club is also participating in a toy drive - until Dec. 12. The club will be accepting toys and donations in support of Toy Mountain.
All proceeds from Christmas tree sales go towards conservation projects and kid’s outdoors events in Orillia and surrounding area.
