This 1955 Crown Victoria was featured in the Downtown Orillia Classic Car Show in 2022. This year's popular event takes centre stage in the downtown on Saturday.

One of downtown Orillia’s marquee events, the Classic Car Show, motors into Orillia this weekend.

Samantha Yandt, events and marketing coordinator for the Downtown Orillia Management Board (DOMB), says around 350 classic cars will line downtown streets for the 23rd annual Downtown Orillia Classic Car Show on Saturday.

“Visitors of the car show love the uniqueness of each show car, along with the history of the vehicles,” she said. “It is a family-friendly day that attracts car enthusiasts from all walks of life, and each show car is a piece of art from different eras.”

Cars from the late 1900s, the Orillia Heritage Centre Tudhope collection, and vehicles that have "fantastic" modern modifications will be all shined up and on display during the event.

“It provides a special kind of nostalgia and it's an opportunity for show car owners to proudly display their vehicles,” Yandt said. "The show car owners come from all over Southern Ontario, as far north as Sault Ste. Marie and as far south as Windsor.”

Each year, the Classic Car Show draws 25,000 people to the downtown area.

“Visitors of the 23rd Annual Classic Car Show can enjoy lots of live music, our fantastic downtown shops, and the restaurant patios will be out on the street,” Yandt said.

For those who would like to proudly display their hot-rod this weekend, you can register here, or on Saturday, at the registration tent at the corner of Mississaga and Matchedash streets.

The car show begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday and rolls out of town at 5 p.m.

The DOMB thanks the sponsors of this year's Classic Car Show: Parry Automotive, Specialized Upholstery, Plaza Auto Group of Orillia, McLean & Dickey Insurance offering Hagerty, the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce, Special Occasion Tent Rentals, Joe Watt Trophy, and Red Truck Automotive.
