“On behalf of our executive and board, I commend Laura Lee for her hard work, dedication and endless creative ideas,” said Carolyn Lewis, past president of the Ontario Music Educators’ Association. "She can always be relied upon to go above and beyond in order to meet the goals of the community."
“I was totally flabbergasted to hear about this award. It’s quite an honour to be a recipient,” Laura Lee said when informed about her Community Builders Award win.
Laura Lee has been recognized for her talents as a music teacher in the past, as the recipient of the MusicCounts Teacher of the Year Award in 2018.
“I hope to continue building the music community and engaging students within our school so they become active music participants. They’re our future,” shared Laura Lee.
The Education award goes to a student, teacher, administrator, or education advocate who has made a difference in the Orillia & Lake Country area. It could be an extraordinary teacher who has changed the direction of students’ lives, an administrator who established a specialized program, or an advocate who saved a school from closing.
Congratulations, Laura Lee!
