Community Foundation grants $40,000 to 19 local charities

CFOA’s investment portfolio has reached a landmark of over $15 million; Foundation granted over $717,500 to local charities this year

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF ORILLIA AND AREA

The Community Foundation of Orillia and Area has approved fall 2023 grants of $40,300 to local charities to assist them in providing much needed services to vulnerable residents of Orillia and area.

Nineteen organizations will receive funds for activities including:  

  • $2,500 to St. James' Anglican Church for their Food Programs
  • $3,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters for their Teen Mentoring Program
  • $4,000 to Independent Living Services to help fund Assistive Devices

The CFOA’s investment portfolio has reached a landmark of over $15 million and is comprised of a variety of funds. This fall grants come from the Smart and Caring Communities Fund, the Patti Cox Children’s Fund, the Patti Cox Senior’s Fund and the Casino Rama CREW Festive Fund.

In 2023, the CFOA has granted over $717,500 to local charities.
