A new cannabis shop could be coming to downtown Orillia.

According to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) website, an application is under review to allow a retail cannabis company to set up shop at 81 Mississaga St., in the former Lucky Devil Piercing and Tattoo Shop location in Orillia’s downtown.

The application was filed by Miss Jones Cannabis Co.

Very little information is available about the applicant.

According to an online job listing for a marketing manager, Miss Jones Cannabis Co. is a new cannabis dispensary in Ontario, with the company planning on opening several stores across the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario.

They have also applied for licences for locations in Barrie in the Kozlov Mall on Bayfield Street, Brantford and North Bay.

The deadline for objection to the application is April 8.

Lucky Devil Piercing and Tattoo Shop’s Orillia location has been vacant since an arson incident in Nov. 2019 where a 30-year-old Orillia man was charged.
