Community supporters and partners of Simcoe County joined Deputy Warden Terry Dowdall at The Nest Golf Club at Friday Harbour Resort for the County’s 14th Annual County of Simcoe Golf Tournament in support of regional mental health initiatives, including training for youth mental health.

More than $35,000 was raised to help complete the County’s $175,000 pledge towards the #HaveHope youth mental health campaign being led by Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.

“The County thanks all our generous sponsors, participants and our fantastic hosts at the Nest at Friday Harbour for supporting this important cause,” said Deputy Warden Terry Dowdall. “Mental health is an ongoing issue that impacts local emergency departments, our paramedic services, our schools and many of our households. I’m pleased that we’re working to address stigmas, provide additional supports and give needed training to individuals who interact with and support youth living with mental health.”
