CHIGAMIK COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE

MIDLAND – Centre de santé communautaire CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre (CSC CHIGAMIK CHC) is pleased to announce that it has received the Government of Ontario’s French Language Services designation.
With the new designation, Francophones in North Simcoe Muskoka will continue to have access to quality health care services and programs at Chigamik, in the language of their choice.
“We are honoured to become the only Community Health Centre in North Simcoe Muskoka to be designated under the French Language Services Act, as it reflects our commitment to provide quality health care services to Francophones in our area,” said David Jeffery, Executive Director, CSC Chigamik CHC. “This designation speaks to the sustainability of health care services in French. And, what it really means to our community is that French services at Chigamik are here to stay.”
Under the French Language Services Act, Francophones in North Simcoe Muskoka will continue to have access to Chigamik’s free community programs and services in French including:
- Primary health care
- Dietitian services
- Diabetes education programs
- Mental health services
- Physiotherapy
- French language services navigation
- Health promotion programs
Chigamik’s French language services designation was made possible through collaboration and partnership with the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Network (NSM LHIN), Entité 4 and Francophone community partners.
“Congratulations to Chigamik for its designation under the French Language Services Act. Achieving designation is the result of a real commitment on the part of all staff members to offer high quality health services in French. We will continue to work closely with Chigamik to develop new programs and services which address the needs of Francophones in North Simcoe Muskoka,” said Estelle Duchon, Executive Director, Entité 4.
