Downtown Orillia is set to kick-off its festival season at the upcoming Into the Green and Blues Street Festival on Saturday, May 25.

This street festival will celebrate all things spring beginning with live blues and bluegrass entertainment by The Slocan Ramblers, Paul Reddick and the Ever Lovin’ Jug Band plus many more on street performers.

The downtown streets will be full of incredible spring sidewalk sales offered by downtown merchants in addition to amazing local artists and vendors situated throughout Mississaga and Peter Street.

“There will be fun for the whole family in the kid zones featuring bouncy castles, a climbing slide, mini golf and face painting,” states Event & Marketing Director for Downtown Orillia, Courtney Thompson.

“Families will also enjoy magic shows throughout the day on Mississaga Street performed by The Party Magician.  Visit the Artisans Village on Peter Street for handmade, local artisan creations, jewellery and spectacular art. Shop at over 150 stores for one-day only massive spring sidewalk deals and stop for lunch or dinner at one of our many mouth-watering restaurants, cafes or pubs.”

Thompson is thrilled to have The Slocan Ramblers headlining this year’s street festival. “Enjoy smokin’ bluegrass by 2019 Juno Award Nominees, The Slocan Ramblers beginning at 11 a.m.”

“Rooted in tradition, fearlessly creative and possessing a bold, dynamic sound, The Slocan Ramblers have become a leading light of today’s acoustic music scene. With a reputation for energetic live shows, impeccable musicianship and an uncanny ability to convert anyone within earshot into a lifelong fan”. (slocanramblers.com).
