Fans were dancing to hits from the 1970s to the 2000s on Thursday night at the Oriliia Opera House, as Dawyne Gretzky, billed as Canada's greatest party band, unleashed its talent for a packed house.
The 10-piece outfit, launched in 2011, boasts a fervent fan base built solely on the strength of their live show with faithful precision and breathtaking energy not seen in these songs since the original artists in their prime.
The band performed classic rock hits, including songs by Abba, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Prince, Tina Turner, and a show-stopper of a rendition of the Janis Joplin version of Piece of My Heart, in which Carleigh Aikins, of Barrie, mirrored the jaw-dropping vocal range of Joplin.
