Heritage Estate Winery and Cidery just outside Barrie has been purchased by a new company and it’s ripe for change.
“We will be renovating and enhancing the property in many, many ways,” said Isaac Drookman, a partner with ZB Hospitality Group. “Ceremonies among the vines, new products introduced in the retail shop.
"The biggest change will be the addition of an event venue," he added.
Drookman says the new event tent will happen this year, while there will be a new hospitality building for 2023.
Heritage Estate Winery and Cidery’s property includes a rustic farmhouse, a bed and breakfast, restaurant, winery and cidery operations, and a unique outdoor venue featuring picturesque landscapes, along with just under 40 acres of rolling vineyards and nature views.
It features great spaces for hosting a variety of events, from social and corporate events, weddings and intimate functions. A retail location featuring all of the products made on-site allow guests to purchase apple ciders, red, white sparkling and rose wines, sangria and much more.
Heritage Estate Winery and Cidery employs five people, Drookman said.
“And yes we will expand greatly,” he said.
ZB Hospitality says it is recognized as one of Canada’s premiere independent food service, special event and restaurant groups. It was founded in 2006 by Walter Vaz and Drookman. Its focus is owning and operating premium event locations, paired with five-star food services.
With locations across Ontario, the company’s portfolio includes unique venues, restaurants and contract management services.
ZB Hospitality Group will take possession of the property in mid-January. They plan to host a grand opening in May 2022 at 421 Penetanguishene Rd.
