Autumn’s colourful majesty was on full display Saturday for members of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail Association’s Orillia club.
They hiked the Jevins and Silver Lake Trail near Gravenhurst, described by the club as “typical Muskoka terrain with wilderness thrown in for good measure.”
“That means footing can be a little uncertain, taking more care than usual to place feet, and longer than usual to complete a 9.5-kilometre trail.”
As for wildlife, the group came across a garter snake in the leaves. Hikers also saw “the wilderness engineers (beavers) working away.”
