Members of a local hiking club journeyed along the Cooper’s Falls Trails, northeast of Washago, to take in the scenery Thursday.
The joint Barrie and Orillia chapters of the Ganaraska Hiking Club took in the sights of wetlands and fall colours.
“This trail is moderately rugged, so hikers were glad to have poles and gaiters to aid in crossing narrow plank bridges, stepping through muddy footing, and scrambling up granite rocks covered with lichen or pine needles,” said club president Carol Strickland.
The club continues to offer hikes throughout the season. More information can be found at ganaraska-hiking-trail.org.
