Cottage CountryCon is back for its third annual event in the beautiful city of Orillia.
This collectors convention strives to be Ontario's best and truest comic con featuring fandoms of multiple genres.
As long-time fans of comic books, toys, pop-culture, live wrestling, cosplay, animation, sci-fi and fantasy, the promoter wanted to bring that style event to Orillia.
The show will feature over 100 comic book, live wrestling, retro toys, posters and pop-culture vendors from all over North America. There will be comic guests, actors, attractions, a cosplay contest and amazing door prizes.
Admission is only $20. Kids under 12 are free and there is free parking.
Formerly the Orillia Comic-Con, the event was re-branded as Cottage CountryCon.
"We changed our name because when we saw the demographics from the tickets we sold and saw the whole Cottage Country area surrounding the beautiful City of Orillia was coming out to the event, we called it the Cottage CountryCon, serving all Simcoe and Muskoka area," said Carmine De Santo, the event promoter.
"We have an amazing lineup of talent and attractions joining us in Orillia this May. We are very excited for the fans of Orillia and area," said De Santo.
"We broke the attendance record for a single day city event with over 7,500 people coming out to our first ever Comic-Con in Orillia back in 2017," said De Santo.
"We are expecting a great crowd for our 2019 show."
We now have a new venue to accommodate over 100 vendors. The 2019 Comic-Con will be on Sunday, May 19 at the Best Western Mariposa Conference Centre at 400 Memorial Ave., Orillia.

The Cottage CountryCon will take place on May 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
