CARLEY COMMUNITY HALL
********************
If you are taking part in the Images Studio Tour or just going for a country drive on Thanksgiving weekend, stop in at Carley Community Hall for a hearty homemade lunch.
The lunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. It includes a choice of soup or chilli with a tea biscuit or roll, dessert, and coffee or tea. All this is for the reasonable price of $8 with a childrens’ price of $4 ( ages 4-10). Take-out orders are also available if you are short on time.
This picturesque and historic building in Oro-Medonte is well worth the visit. Originally established in 1912, it is the only remaining one-room school house in the municipality in its original condition. It is an important part of the township’s rich rural and cultural heritage. And it is available for rent to the community.
The hall still has its original 100-year-old blackboard, flooring, ceiling and wainscoting. Having lunch in this charming rural setting overlooking the cornfields, will bring you back to bygone days when life was simpler. The aroma of delicious comfort food and the welcoming atmosphere of our Carley Country Cooks will be an experience to be savoured.
When visiting the hall be sure to purchase something from the Harvest Table and collect a flier on the rental of the building. The hall is rented by a variety of users from recreational groups to family dinners, showers, meetings workshops and weddings. There is a large bright open space as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The grounds are spacious with grass and century pine trees providing a beautiful backdrop for outdoor photographs.
Carley Community Hall is located at 396 Warminster Sideroad between Line 8 and 9. For bookings call Sandie Leonard at the Township of Oro-Medonte at 705-487-2171 or email [email protected] for details.
