School year calendar
To plan ahead for next year, check out the 2019-20 school year calendar. The first day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 3. The first day for all Junior Kindergarten students is Thursday, Sept. 5.

Report cards
Elementary school report cards go home before the last day of school. Secondary school students should check with their school to find out when to pick up their report cards (secondary school offices are closed after July 5). If not picked up, secondary school report cards are mailed to the students’ home address.

Summer school
Registration is still available for the SCDSB’s summer school courses. Students in Grades 9 to 12 can reach ahead and earn credits before the upcoming school year, retake courses to improve marks or take additional credits for study and work requirements. Summer school offers students teacher-instructed, face-to-face classes and eLearning courses in July. Details, locations and registration information can be found on the Learning Centres website

Transcript requests
Public secondary school transcript request forms, information and FAQs are available on the SCDSB website. During the summer when secondary schools are closed (July 5 to Aug. 26), transcripts can be requested by emailing a completed form to [email protected]

First Rider Program taking place in August to help first time bus riders
The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) offers a free First Rider Program for first-time riders, which includes a ride on a school bus. This safety program is provided by the SCSTC, in partnership with school bus operators, to educate students and their families of the rules and responsibilities on and around the school bus. Sessions take place in mid to late August across Simcoe County. Parents/guardians and their children attending any school in Simcoe County may attend any of the sessions. For more information and dates, visit the SCSTC website
