'Hocus pocus and hops' on the menu Friday in downtown Orillia

'Grab your witchy gang, dress up ... bring back the inner child and let yourself have some fun,' said organizer of unique event at Couchiching Craft Brewery

Downtown Orillia’s My Moon Collective is teaming up with Couchiching Craft Brewery to host an evening of “hocus pocus and hops.”

Kelsey Beesley, owner of My Moon Collective, has hosted a number of "mystic markets" in the past. This year, for Halloween, she has some extra fun planned to bring people together and uphold her shop’s values of connection and community.

It’s called Witches Night Out and Mystic Market.

On Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the second floor of the Couchiching Craft Brewery, there will be local vendors, intuitive readings, Halloween-themed drinks and snacks, and a costume contest with prizes from both My Moon Collective and Couchiching Craft Brewery.

“Grab your witchy gang, dress up ... bring back the inner child and let yourself have some fun,” urged Beesley.

The event is a great way to enjoy the spooky season, she said.

“Come with friends, or come by yourself,” she said, noting the brewery’s event space is great for people to meet and mingle in a safe environment.

This year differs from previous mystic markets she has hosted. There will be more vendors than previously, and the brewery’s space “helps bring to life the socializing aspect,” she added.
