Tammie Jordan of Barrie is extra ‘merry’ after winning a Merry Millions prize worth $100,000 in the Jan. 9 draw.

Jordan, a retired health-care worker, says she is regular lottery player who picks up tickets weekly.

"I was at the store when I gave my ticket to the clerk to check. He had a big smile on his face as he told me I won big," she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. "He promised to keep me from falling if I faint.

"I was hoping to keep the news to myself but that only lasted about three hours before I texted a photo of my win to my kids," Tammie laughed. "They're so happy for me. Lots of happy tears and congratulations. We all need some time to process the shock."

She plans to set up a savings account for her grandson, share her win with her children and treat herself to some new furniture.

“It’s a huge blessing and my heart is filled with joy,” she concluded.

Merry Millions is a new limited-time OLG lottery game available for $20 from Nov. 21, 2023, to Jan. 9, featuring three $1-million guaranteed top prizes, three $50,000 early bird prizes, plus 402 additional prizes between $1,000 and $250,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at Alfie's Variety on Cundles Road in Barrie.
