Friday Harbour Resort is celebrating Family Day weekend (Feb. 15 to 17) with an outdoor ice carving competition and festival with something for everyone.
Come down to the boardwalk to watch as four professional ice carvers battle it out. Festivities on each day will get started at 12:00 p.m. Carving will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 with the judging and awards ceremony, taking place on Sunday, Feb. 16.
A magical musical light show will illuminate the boardwalk at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday night followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 6:30 p.m. A variety of family-friendly activities will take place throughout the weekend, including a dedicated Kids’ Zone brought to you by the Nest Golf Club that will feature face painting, activities, and supersized board games.
Stroll down the boardwalk and check out local winter vendors as you make your way to the outdoor ice rink on the Beach for family skating, shinny, and a teen skating party. Skates, helmets, snowshoes, and cross-country skis are available to rent at the Outdoor Adventure Centre and guests can mingle with Frozen characters, Elsa and Olaf as they cruise around the resort. A stellar lineup of performers will be set up at our Compass Stage including Shipyard Kitchen, Hunter Sheridan, and Strange Potatoes.
The Ultimate Food Truck and The Gogi Street Korean Fusion Food Truck will be serving up delicious dishes alongside the Great Canadian Caesar Bar, which will offer unique spins on the classic beverage along with wine, beer, hot chocolate, and chilli.
For a delicious dinner, make a reservation at the Beach Club which features spectacular views over Lake Simcoe and will be offering a special Family Day Brunch on the 16 and 17 as well as a pancake breakfast.
Guests can also try one of the fabulous restaurants on the Resort including Fishbone Kitchen + Wine Bar which whose chef was recently crowned Barrie’s Top Chef, and Avenue Cibi e Vini which is known for its gourmet take on Italian favourites. This event is free to attend and open to all. Friday Harbour Resort is located at 25th Side Road on 13th Line in Innisfil.
