The first baby of the new year born at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) arrived r 4:54 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Nora Belle Ruth Beach is the first child of Rebecca and David Beach and weighed 7 lb, 9 oz.

She was due to arrive on Monday, Jan. 2 but decided Jan. 1 would be a better birthday.

New mom, Rebecca, would like to extend her thanks to all of the OSMH obstetrics staff for their care and assisting in the safe delivery of baby Nora.

Nora’s arrival is welcomed by proud grandparents Keith and Louise Beach and George and Doris Cooper.

Mother and daughter are resting comfortably.

The growth of our community continues to be reflected in the number of births at OSMH, with more than 1,100 annually.
