Kindergarten registration is officially open for children turning 4 in 2025. The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) estimates that it will welcome 1,500 new Kindergarten students into its 43 Catholic elementary schools in September.
“Every new school year brings a world of possibilities for our young learners,” said Maria Hardie, Board Chair. “As children step into Kindergarten, they begin a journey of discovery, friendship, and growth. We’re thrilled to welcome them into a Catholic school community where their curiosity will flourish and their love for learning will be nurtured.”
“I’m delighted to welcome our youngest learners to the SMCDSB family,” said Frances Bagley, Director of Education. “I can already picture the laughter and learning in our Kindergarten classrooms next September. Our incredible teachers are ready to connect with each child and help them discover their unique gifts.”
Students who turn four in 2025 are eligible to attend Junior Kindergarten beginning in September 2025. SMCDSB's Kindergarten program is a full-day, play-based learning experience. Our approach nurtures independence, responsibility, self-esteem, and Gospel values. This lays a solid foundation for each child's future.
