Kitchen fire causes $250,000 damage to Highway 11 N. business

Nobody was injured in a fire that caused significant damage to a business on Highway 11 North Saturday in Kilworthy.

The fire erupted in a kitchen within an apartment attached to a business, according to the Gravenhurst Fire Department.

"First-in crews were able to knock down the fire quickly, preventing it from spreading into the business," noted a Tweet from the fire department.

Officials say the fire caused about $250,000 in damages. The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious, officials say.
