Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to make official visit to Orillia

The City of Orillia will welcome Her Honour the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, during an official visit to the City on Sunday, Mar. 4, 2018.

During her official visit to the Sunshine City, Her Honour will take the opportunity to share in the excitement of the Orillia 2018 Ontario Winter Games and meet with Mayor Steve Clarke and the local Ontario Winter Games Organizing Committee.   

“We look forward to hosting the Lieutenant Governor. I have witnessed her forthrightness and passion and we are so pleased that Her Honour will be visiting Orillia during this very special weekend,” said Mayor Steve Clarke. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the true spirit of our community and our beautiful City.” 

Members of the public are invited to a reception taking place at 5 p.m. at Swanmore Hall during which Her Honour will deliver brief remarks and meet with members of the community.

Her Honour, appointed in 2014, is Ontario’s 29th Lieutenant Governor and is the representative of Her Majesty the Queen.
