The Lighthouse received a generous grant Monday from the Ontario Trillium Foundation for a new security system, phone system and printer/copier.

"We are very grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for understanding the value of what we do as a charity for our community," said Linda Goodall, executive director of The Lighthouse.

Lynn Thomas, development coordinator at The Lighthouse, agreed.

"This new system is contributing to the consistency of our current operations, providing safety for our clients and our staff," said Thomas. "The equipment is also an investment into our future at the new Lighthouse Community Services Hub, which is a great addition to our new facility."

Simcoe North MPP Jill Dunlop was pleased to present the funding to The Lighthouse.

"It's an exciting addition to The Lighthouse and to know that the staff and the clients will be safe.  And the fact that this security system can be transferred to the new facility, Building Hope, is a very wise investment, " said Dunlop.
