CFUW Orillia is delighted to announce local author Wendy McQuaig as its November meeting speaker.
During her presentation, Wendy, a registered psychotherapist with a master’s degree from the University of Toronto, will describe how she developed the story for her first book, Behind the Pickle Jar, a historical fiction set in the early 1900s. Wendy will discuss how her work in mental health helped with her creative process. She will also describe how she believes the two most important lessons she learned about life in the 1900s could help us today.
The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at Creative Nomad Studios.
“We are so delighted to feature a local Orillia author at our meeting this month,” said Heather Lewis, president of CFUW Orillia. “Wendy brings more than 35 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families from Simcoe County and Muskoka to her wonderful book.”
Wendy McQuaig has previously taught a course in clinical foundation skills for the bachelor of social work program at Lakehead University in Orillia. She began researching and writing Behind the Pickle Jar approximately seven years ago.
