ORILLIA MARIPOSA GRANDMOTHERS TO GRANDMOTHERS

A group of Orillia and area women take fundraising very seriously. The Orillia Mariposa Grandmothers to Grandmothers are one of many groups across Canada that responded to the call from the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help raise funds for African grandmothers.

The Orillia Mariposa Grandmothers are hosting their Annual Book and Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange on Feb. 22 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Paul's Church, 62 Peter St. N., Orillia. Story time for both adults and kids by Storyteller Susan Charters begins at 10:30 a.m.

Shoppers are invited to bring up to six gently used books or jigsaw puzzles to exchange for new-to-you items.

Although there is no charge to attend, the Grandmothers gratefully accept donations to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help African grandmothers raising their orphaned grandchildren.
